Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, sterilized, single use needles under the skin at specific points determined by diagnosis. Diagnosis is done by interview, pulse palpation, observation of the tongue & other physical structures. It has been used for 2,500 years to heal many kinds of health issues, as well as prevent them. It is relatively painless, though may feel tingly, numb, or heavy. It uses external channels that connect to the internal organs you are familiar with to dramatically change disease processes. Side effects include better sleep, reduced inflammation, and pain reduction. Research continues to find ways in which acupuncture can benefit the body!

Chinese Herbs

Chinese Herbal Medicine has been used for thousands of years, being one of the oldest herbal systems in the world. Formulas are prescribed to patients based on their signs and symptoms and according to Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic tools. The treatment plan is based on relieving symptoms as well as treating the underlying cause of the disease or complaint. Herbs are normally combined in a formula and are rarely given alone. This is done to create a balance between the herbs and to allow them to work together synergistically, yielding effective and safe results. There are rarely any side effects ever experienced with Chinese herbal formulas.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a type of treatment in where heat is applied to different points or areas on the body. This is done to treat and prevent a wide variety of symptoms. The material used is an herb called mugwort, or Ai Ye, which is lit by fire until the herb is smoldering before being placed over different points. This is done to create a very warming effect on certain area of the body and to promote circulation of qi and blood. Mainly this is used for relieving pain, tightness, swelling, or to strengthen the patient's qi, or energy.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional method of bodywork that involves the use of glass, bamboo or plastic cups to create suction on the body.  It is useful for a variety of problems including muscle tension, pain, swelling and even cold and flu symptoms.
